«I’ve never been to Capracotta. When I hear people speak of the town, I think of my ancestors and of those family members whom I’ve never met who still live there. Who knows how many there are? One day, I hope to visit Capracotta and meet them».
Dom was born 28 years ago in Burlington, New Jersey. His father, Vincenzo DiTanna, is from Capracotta. For decades, Burlington was the point of arrival for many Capracottesi immigrants drawn there by the steel and iron industries. Vincenzo’s family relocated to the US, when he was a year old.
Dominic works as a professional photographer, spending his time between Mount Laurel, New Jersey and Miami Beach, Florida. Every year in Ocean City, New Jersey, he takes the official Di Tanna family reunion picture.
«I love my work», explains Dominic, «because I’m able to be my own boss and have the time and freedom to pursue my other passions, while still making a comfortable living. My favorite subjects are people and landscapes. I’ve been told that with these subject preferences I could get a lot of inspiration from Capracotta. I can’t wait to visit the town».
